A day of firsts

Today at the beach each boy experienced a "first." One was good news (well, great news!) and the other...well, not so much. First for the good news...Parker took his first real steps! Trey and I were standing a few feet from each other talking and Parker was down on the floor beside us. I looked down and saw him take a few steps. I was so excited I could hardly speak and could only non-coherently exclaim to Trey. He thought I was saying there was a bug or something so he reached down and swooped up Parker. When I finally could explain, he put him back down and again, he took a few steps. He was so happy and proud of himself. Later we got a little video of it and here it is!

Onto the next first, Thomas had a wonderful time swimming in the ocean. I guess that was also a first (he never has been out in the ocean without being held at all times by either me or Trey). He wore his swim vest and did great. I didn't have my camera ready until after he finished swimming, but here are Trey & Thomas out in the water (it was so calm this morning!).

They were having a ball until Trey spotted some jellyfish and decided to bring Thomas on in. Unfortunately, the jellyfish were quicker than they were (or they somehow got in each other's way!). Thomas got a little sting on his ankle. He was great about it though. He wanted to go back to the house and get his paci (and stay out of the water for a while), but he wasn't screaming wildly or anything.

Hopefully we can avoid the jellyfish for the rest of the week and keep our milestones positive!
