Five and a half

Thomas is now officially 5 1/2. It seems like so much has happened in these past six months that I have to do an update.

DSC_9704

Thomas has been reading small words and short phrases for quite some time now (since some point in his 4s class last year). But in the past month or two, his reading has really taken off. He can read books and words with more than two syllables. It’s almost like he has known how to read for quite some time, but he’s been keeping it a secret from us because he just…reads. He doesn’t really sound many words out (except for the ones he doesn't know right off the bat), he just reads and reads and reads.

Granted, his DESIRE to sit and read by himself is still a work in progress and he still fights us a little bit when we ask him to read a story at night. But he can. And I’m hoping his love of reading will continue to grow as he gains more confidence in his ability to do it.

I have a two-minute video of him reading last night, but I think the file is too big to upload. I edited to a 30-second version that I will post below. This is a book that we hadn’t read in months to him and he has never tried to read by himself. He did need help on a few words (like “gorge” in this clip), but he knew words like squeaking, squealing and panicking, but he needed a little help with “scampering.” :)

I'm having a bit of a problem with uploading videos...but here goes the third try. And if that doesn't work, try here.

In addition to reading, I’m interested to hear what his teacher will tell us when she gives us his report card on Wednesday and we meet with her for our first parent/teacher conference. From what I see, his fine motor skills still need some work (coloring in the lines and handwriting), but he has improved tremendously. He used to HATE coloring and writing, but now he is actually ASKING us to let him do these things!

DSC_9602

I think in preschool he was frequently allowed to give minimal effort in doing these things (which was probably fine for that age), but it was a bit of a rude awakening when his kindergarten teacher started asking him, “Is that the best you can do?” and pushed him to try harder. I’ve started giving him extra “assignments” at home to help him with his focus and his skills, and it seems to be helping him in those aspects and also creating a desire in him to do more of these things. He LOVES to be praised for his hard work and effort; so I think a lot of times he asks to do these things just so he can be praised. Fine with me!

Sometimes he still wants to take shortcuts, but he sticks with it. Last week he wanted to watch a tv show and I told him he had to write “I want to watch television” in his best handwriting first (I wrote it for him and he had to copy it). He kept saying, “Can’t I just write ‘tv’”? Funny boy.

He still loves to dress up and he has now passed this love along to his brother as well. Lately when one or both of the boys are in costume out in public someone will usually say, “Oh getting ready for Halloween?” and I think, “Nope, just a regular day in our house!”

DSC_9504

Thomas loves to play and he loves to be goofy. We’re trying to always remind him that there’s a time and place for everything, but in general, I adore his enthusiasm.

In other random news, he continues to be a better eater. Like my mother always did with me, I make him take at least one bite of everything at dinner, and it seems to be working. Now his one little bite has turned into at least three bites and a lot of times, he does it without too much complaint (mostly with vegetables like broccoli, lima beans, green beans—his least favorites). AND, Trey decided, rightfully so, that if we make him eat foods he doesn’t like, why are we letting him not drink milk just because he doesn’t like it? He now drinks a cup of milk with dinner…and that is HUGE progress in our house!

I’m so proud of the little boy he is becoming. He is usually sweet and kind and I love and adore his innocence and hope it lasts a long time. He loves his brother and they are absolute best friends. I cannot believe how much he is growing and learning; it’s truly amazing and heartwarming to see. He is such a gift and a blessing and I remain eternally grateful that he is our son.

Eviction notice

We’ve endured many firsts in our parenting journey--stitches (traditional and glue), a minor fracture, pneumonia, Bells Palsy, nebulizers, food allergies and intolerances, asthma and many other maladies and injuries—but tomorrow will be a first. First real surgery. I am a nervous wreck.

Tomorrow morning Parker will have those monstrous tonsils and adenoids removed. They have been served with their official eviction notice! I know it’s for the best. I know that in the end he will sleep and breathe better, but goodness, the thought of anesthesia and the fact that he has no way of fully understanding what is coming his way just breaks my heart! We’ve told him there will be some pain…but he doesn’t know it’s going to last for so long.

I just have to keep reminding myself it is for the best. His pediatrician, ENT and allergist ALL agree it is necessary, but it’s hard not to keep returning to the fact that he is three and it is SURGERY. Oh, and to make things better this week, Thomas has been sick with a high fever since Tuesday afternoon and it’s taken all that I have just to keep the two of them away from each other since then! Hopefully Thomas will be better soon too! I felt terrible for shipping my sick son off to be with his grandparents, but it was for the best.

Here's Parker talking a little about what is to come...

Please pray for a successful surgery and a quick and easy-as-it-can-be recovery. Many thanks!

Buzz on the big wheel

I'm trying to work on updating the blog...there are a few backdated entries I've done already...many more to come.  Also, my in-laws graciously gave me a Flip video camera for Christmas and I need to upload some videos from that.  Since I know there are some out there wondering about Thomas, here is a video of him today.  As you watch him talk, you can see a bit of his "symptoms."  It's most evident when he is laughing or crying, but you can definitely tell something is off when he talks.

Now granted, in this video, he starts talking silly (I think he's imitating a character in one of the Toy Story movies or something), but that's not the Bell's Palsy, just Thomas being Thomas.  :-)

Symptoms have not worsened so far, so that is good. And he still doesn't seem to mind one bit.

Parker Hammumumumum

So I've totally fallen off the blogosphere, and I'm sorry. Trey started a new job and he's home every night. I started this blog mostly to help him keep up with us while he was gone, but that's not a necessity anymore. However, I also blog to keep a record of our lives, and there is still a need for that! However, since I last blogged, we decided to put our house on the market and we finally have done that, but not without a considerable amount of work and effort. And Thomas finished school for the summer...and we've just been generally busy. Now I'm so behind and I have so many posts to make that I'm so overwhelmed every time I even think about it. But I will do it...but not tonight.

What I will do is try to share a little video of Parker. He is such a little chatty boy and I keep thinking how I need to video it to remember these little conversations he has. He cracks me up. And his sentence structure is not great, but I must say, I find his verbal skills quite impressive for a 25 month old. He does say things like, "Want it, that," or "Do it, self" or "Mommy, get it, truck." But he does talk so much! Anyway, so hopefully this video shares a little of our life these days. And the smile at the very end is something I can rarely catch on camera with him, but it is so very Parker. He is a mess! Oh, and I should say, what he is doing in this video is pretending he's running a Chick-Fil-A out of his "house." It's something the boys do quite a lot. We don't even go to CFA that often anymore, but they love to do this (when Thomas play ordered a "number 2 combo with fries and a lemonade and a chicken sandwich with no butter on the bun and no pickles" I decided we were going a bit too much!).

I promise I will try to make some serious updates to this blog soon!

The sweetest thing

I've been saving this to put together an update on Thomas and include his school review, but I can't seem to find the time to get it all together. So, I'm going to share this video now because I think it's just the sweetest thing.

Trey taught this to Thomas some time ago (he says it with him nightly with his prayers, but when Trey's not here, I usually don't say it), but I kept forgetting to record him saying it until now. Here's Thomas saying "The Lord's Prayer."

I try to remember to record some of these things (even though I rarely share them on here) because I want to remember how they said things when they were this little. So cute.

Parker's ABCs with a side of raisins

Parker is learning to say his ABCs and it's too cute. However, the best time to capture him in action is not A) while he has a mouthful of raisins, or B)when the memory card on my camera is just about full. So if you can disregard the raisins and the abrupt end, it's still cute.

I don't usually use Blogger to compose posts or upload videos...we'll see how I like it.

By the way, as noted in the previous post, I still am trying to catch up with blogging, but I am putting something like this in because it's relatively easy to post and a good something to share in the meantime. Hope you enjoy!

Limbo video

Thought I'd share a little video from the class party. I took it during the game of Limbo. Notice that I had to stop recording to go rescue Parker (who seemed to want to take his own turn. I told him it wasn't fair since he could naturally get much lower than the other kids.). :)

Kids are cute. Though I realize this video is not really all that interesting. It was much more fun being there and watching the little kids try this game.

Caterpillar picnic videos

As mentioned in the previous post, all of the 2s enjoyed their annual Very Hungry Caterpillar Picnic at James Island County Park last Friday. It was a lot of fun. And even though they opened up the new playground just in time for the picnic (which was great), what Thomas really, really liked was the Spray Play area across the field. Here are some videos that show a little bit of how much fun he had...

In this first one, the little boy in the red bathing suit who is rolling on the ground with Thomas is his buddy, Braxton. He has the cutest smile.

He's behind the big fountain (you can see him for a moment at the left side) at the beginning of this and then runs to the right side.

Thomas cannot wait to go back and I'm trying to use a return visit as bribery for potty training. We'll see if it helps!

Though I will say, I imagine on any given day it won't be just a bunch of 2-3 year olds. I think Thomas' teacher estimated it was 80 kids (2-3 year olds). It was wild!

Parker the motorboat?

I've been quite a bit under the weather this week, and utterly thankful that my Mom has retired so she was able to take Thomas for a day. It was much easier to suffer through a high fever and misery with only Parker (and poor Trey is on the road and came down with it too). Thank you Mom for rescuing me (again!). And Thomas completely enjoyed his time catching frogs, playing in the dirt and wearing his new earplugs to ride the tractor with Papa (even into a tree).

I have many pictures to post, but am busy preparing for Thomas' upcoming birthday. So I thought I'd share this quick video from Easter that makes me smile (even when I'm really sick!).

First ice cream cone

Over Christmas, Thomas had his first ice cream cone. He tried ice cream at Marble Slab Creamery once, and I've offered him some a time or two, but he's never really been all that interested. And since he hasn't always tolerated dairy very well, it's just not something I offer him much. But he watched his cousin Katherine eat one one night and he wanted his own, so I promised he could have one the next night (he had already eaten a dessert of several cookies on that night). So the next night he was most excited to have his own (and didn't seem to mind that he couldn't have the one with chocolate in it like Katherine had).

They don't look all that excited in the picture, but I promise they were. :)

Of course, it didn't take long until I realized that Thomas wasn't that much into the ice cream, but he wanted the cone. He asked me to take the ice cream out and I obliged.

And then after eating the cone, he gave the ice cream another try...

I think he liked it:

I know Dropshots doesn't always work for everyone who views this blog, but the file was too large to upload to any of my other photo services. So hopefully you can see this because it's kind of cute:

Laughing baby

Here's a little video from about a week ago. Parker sometimes gets very tickled and it just melts my heart. Hopefully this video is showing for you. It's a large file so I had to use dropshots.com, which isn't my favorite...

Boys will be boys

What a day! I've heard the saying "boys will be boys," and today I really learned what it means. Boys will be mischievous!

Thomas decided he didn't want to take a nap. So after he spent about an hour not napping in his crib, on my fourth trip in to answer his screams of "Mommy! Mommy!" I decided to let him get out. I asked him to play quietly in his room while I finished sorting the laundry downstairs and got that started. I put the gate in his doorway and he wasn't completely quiet, but he was good enough. He, of course, however, pulled ALL of the books out of his bookcase (as he has done a lot lately) and dumped all his toys on the floor. I let him come downstairs and let him play while I sat down to figure out what to cook for dinner. After sitting for a few minutes he ran into me shouting "I ran in the clean clothes! I jumped in the clean clothes!" Yeah, it took him less than five minutes to turn my five neatly sorted piles of laundry into this:

And it actually got much worse after that. He started kicking laundry into all parts of the house and everytime I tried to pick things up, he came behind me and dumped them all out again. But that was nothing...

When Parker woke up from his nap I went upstairs to feed him for about 15 minutes. I left Thomas playing downstairs and he usually is very well behaved. I think actually I left him in his room and then he went downstairs. After I finished with Parker I called down to Thomas and asked what he was doing. He ran to the bottom of the stairs, looked up at me with a sweet smile and said, "I'm making a mess with the water in the kitchen." Uh-oh. I asked him what water and he said, "The water in the kitchen." I thought he had pulled my glass of water off the counter. I wish.

As soon as I got downstairs I realized that not only was his hair wet, but his shirt was soaked and his pants were so soaked they were making splashing noises as he walked. Not only that, they were so wet they were falling down. I got to the kitchen and quickly noticed there was water ALL OVER the floor. I am not kidding. It covered almost the entire kitchen. Since the camera was closeby from the earlier mess, I picked it up and that kid kept on going! You can kind of see how wet he is here:

As I was trying to take the video, he was still pushing the dispenser!!

It took me 5-6 bath towels and about 15 minutes to clean up all of the water (which stretched 10-15 feet away from the fridge at one point. I had to pull out the fridge to dry out underneath it. Water was everywhere. If it wasn't so funny, I probably would have been really angry, but as it was, it was all I could do not to laugh. I guess that's the reason the dispenser does have a lock on it. And I need to get in the habit of using that feature!

29 months old!

Thomas is now (as of Saturday) 29 months old! It's hard to believe he is nearly 2 1/2!

He talks all the time and says the funniest things. He is always asking, "What's this, Mommy?" because he always wants to know more about everything he sees and does. It's amazing to see how much these little children really are sponges soaking up the world around them. He learns so many new things each day and he enjoys nearly every moment of it. I think it's a result of school, but these days he is singing and dancing a lot more too. I need to get a video of his dancing; it is the funniest thing.

He can sing his ABCs all the way through and a few songs like "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "Itsy Bitsy Spider." Here he is this morning saying his ABCs:

He loves all the things that boys usually love - trucks, cars, planes, balls, etc. One weekend recently his dad was teaching him how to catch the football and he did a great job with it. I just have to be careful about him throwing that big ball in the house!

We are just now working more and more on having Thomas clean up his own toys. It's a work in progress. Tonight he cried for 10 minutes before bed because I told him he couldn't have a tractor in his bed, and I wouldn't read to him until he picked up all of the books he took out of his bookcase and threw on the floor (ALL of them!). He has a bad habit of pulling out EVERYTHING and dumping every basket of toys he can find. He's happiest when surrounded by toys...

However, for as much as he loves his toys, he loves his baby brother most of all. When I pick him up from school, he gives me a quick hug and then rushes over to Parker and gives him a hug and a kiss. He loves Parker (a little too much sometimes!). This is what he does just about every time I put Parker on the floor:

It brings such joy to my heart to see these boys together. I know they are going to be such great friends.

It is often very hard managing a 2-year old and a 4-month old as a full-time mom, but knowing they will always have each other and they can grow up as best buddies makes it worth it.

It's hard to believe how quickly they grow. Before I know it, I'll probably be talking about Parker at 29 months! Speaking of growth, Thomas seems to have grown an inch recently. His shirts are getting a little shorter (especially with his pjs!), but he's still a slender thing. Most of his shorts are 18 months sizes! I just ordered him a few 2T pants and I'm hoping they will fit him in the waist. Guess I need to discover the joys of the adjustable waist pants! :)

As for school, he seems to be doing well with that as well. Last Thursday he came home sporting a sparkly star sticker on his hand. His teacher said he got it for being a "good listener." I find this a bit funny seeing how this is the biggest problem we face at home (well, the opposite). He still sometimes gives a quick cry when I drop him off, but I think he almost thinks he has to do it for some reason. Silly boy. When I pick him up he always excitedly tells me that he had fun at school.

One last positive change/growth has been his eating habits. He is finally getting better about trying new things and eating his vegetables. I no longer have to make him a separate meal from what I (or Trey and I) eat. He still doesn't like potatoes unless they are french fries, but he will eat rice and couscous. He will eat at least a few bites of vegetables. Our lives would all be easier if he could eat dairy, but it's still not working for him. On top of that, a recent trip to the GI gave us a slew of negative test results, but unfortunately there was one unexpected positive. On a RAST testing (blood testing for allergies), his only positive was to peanuts. He tested negative to this over a year ago on a skin prick test at the allergist, but now this supposedly less sensitive test yielded a positive. The allergist already had us waiting on peanuts until he was three because of his other intolerances, and now we are planning another trip back to the allergist to test again. I do wish he was free to eat what all the other kids eat, and I hope it happens one day!

All in all though, he is growing up to be such a delightful child. If we could just improve the listening, life would be lovely. He makes me smile so much with his infectious smiles and adorable perspective of the world. Each month I don't think I could feel more proud and blessed to be his mother, and yet each month, I feel it just a little bit more. I laughed the other day at the GI appointment with the nurse asked in taking his history if my pregnancy with him was normal. It's hard to believe now and remember all the drama of having my water break at 16 weeks and being told there was less than a five percent chance that he would survive. I cannot imagine not having him in my life and I thank God for giving me the miracle that he was and is.

The elusive laugh

Parker has laughed a few times here and there (not quite as frequently as his brother did as an infant), but I never can catch it on camera...until today! :) Finally he didn't shy from the camera and he kept on giving me his little, sweet laughs. Hear it for yourself:

Ignore my voice, of course. :) I have a longer video of him laughing that I took just before this one, but unless I figure out how to edit these things, it's going to be too big to upload.

"Thomas make a mess!"

Every day when Thomas wakes from his nap (or usually I have to wake him), he likes to slowly rouse in his crib. So I bring him his milk, open his blinds and wait for him to let me know he is ready to get out. Sometimes I have to go back in and wake him up...sometimes multiple times. About a year ago he went through a phase of spitting out his drink and letting it spill all over his shirt. He would basically just open his mouth or lips and let it dribble out, down his chin and onto his chest. He would do this until his clothes were sopping wet. I thought he outgrew this. Apparently not.

On Friday I was sitting in our room after I took Thomas his milk and I heard him saying "Thomas spit out milk." It didn't register at first, but then I realized what he was saying (and what it meant) and I leapt out of bed and into his room. But it was too late.

With his runny nose on top of the mess he made, he was quite a sight!

Ha! Notice we've now wrapped that end of his crib with an ACE bandage as he was chewing it to bits. This seems to be working! But it sure looks silly... Not to mention the wrapped railings to keep the railing covers down. :)

And since Thomas drinks soymilk ("very vanilla" soymilk at that) because of his dairy intolerance, the smell in his room was nearly sugary sweet and he was very sticky (as was everything he was touching or bumping into). He thought he was quite funny, as you can tell from this video (we'll call it "Make a mess"):

He was so wet, it went all down his front and soaked his pajama shorts all the way to the back.

The sheets were soaked in spots, and he had tried to use his blankets and a burp cloth I'd left in there to wipe his nose to clean it up. Everything had to be washed. I called Trey and told him about it and how Thomas needed a bath since it was even in his hair! But Trey was planning to give the dog a bath, so decided just to hose Thomas down while he was at it. Thomas enjoyed that just fine.

And he helped wash Sully too (or as he calls her, Sussy):

Eventually Trey took my advice and put Thomas in a swim diaper (guess we were too lazy for a bathing suit too!), but until then, we were just "those" people who have a child in a very heavy diaper. He didn't seem to mind though:

By the way, he's running and sucking in in this picture. He's not that skinny. Maybe that's his bodybuilder pose or something. :)

Fun times in Sickville, and learning to count

I wanted to start this off with a picture, but don't have one that's really pertinent to what I'm about to say. Oh well, here's one from last weekend:

Well, it's been a very fun week around here and I can't say I'm sad to see it come to an end. First our dog started waking us in the middle of the night (all night long) because she was sick and unable to open the door to let herself out. That started Saturday night and lasted until Wednesday night.

Tuesday Thomas started running a fever without any other symptoms. It got high enough (103+) that night to warrant a trip to the pediatrician on Wednesday. They diagnosed him with a virus and told us to just keep treating his one symptom (fever) as much as needed. That has been fun because sometimes he can't make it the full six hours between Motrin doses without spiking a fever up to 104 (and higher). But he's been acting fine as long as he doesn't have the chills, so at least there's that. Today was much better. I kept him more medicated, but his fever never got above 100 today, so hopefully we have seen the end of it. I hope. I need to get all the full nights of sleep I can get before this new baby gets here!

At least Trey has been here this week. If he hadn't, I think I may have had to commit myself. Seriously, it's been that fun.

On a positive note, our little sponge (AKA Thomas) continues to learn. I was counting something out loud the other day when I realized he was right behind me, saying the numbers before I did. Trey didn't believe me until Thomas finally performed for him. His numbers come out something like this: I say ONE...and then Thomas says TWO...PEE...PIVE (he usually skips four) ... SIX...SEBEN...EIGHT...NINE...SIX! So yeah, it needs a little work, but it's mighty cute and just another example of how he is picking up things all the time.

This afternoon I tried, and tried, and tried to get a video of him counting. I have learned Thomas will probably not one day be an actor. He does not perform. But finally on my last attempt he did count a little. So here's that little video so you can hear a little bit of what he is doing. Toward the end, he was distracted by the dog across the street (he's saying, "Woof, woof! Woof, woof!").

Another positive this week was all the time Thomas was able to spend with ALL of his grandparents! I'd call a perfect weekend one where he gets to see all of them, so I guess last weekend was perfect. Unfortunately all the visits were short, but they were very much sweet and quite welcome. Thomas's Nana came to see him on Saturday and he kept talking about "Nana" for days. On Monday night we had dinner with his Granddaddy/Grandpa (we're still trying to figure out the best name... i.e. one that Thomas can easily pronounce). He had been out of town with friends for the weekend, so that's why they weren't together for either visit! And of course on Sunday he saw his Nannie and Papa (as I mentioned in my last post).

At Nannie & Papa's house, one thing he loves to do, aside from drive the truck, is run up and down what he calls the "hill" in their backyard. This "hill" (or as he pronounces it has two syllables and sounds more like "hi-ell") is, if I'm remembering correctly, part of an old railbed that existed before the lakes were built in the 1940s. It's probably more like a ditch than a hill, but Thomas loves to run across it.

In the following video, he is first examining pine cones and saying that each of them are "nice," and then he says "hill" in his own way as he runs down it and tackles his Nannie. Enjoy:

Here's a still picture of him running the hill:

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

The animals at Magnolia Planation

Nearly two weeks ago we used our Be a Tourist passes to visit Magnolia Plantation with Thomas's friend J and his mom. We pretty much only visited the petting zoo there, but spent plenty of time hanging out with the animals. Thomas and J seemed to have a great time. You walk into an enclosed area and hang out with sheep, deer, goats, chickens, peacocks and other animals that are in cages.

The deer are really brave and got really close...

Thomas enjoyed "pat-pat"-ing them all!

In that picture he was trying to imitate the sounds the chickens were making. He liked imitating all of the animals...or at least giving it a good try!

He liked these little goats at first, but then decided he was quite scared by them. Every time one came his way, he'd run to me. But at first he was willing to give them a little "pat-pat."

Thomas & J took a little break on a bench (that later the goat showed us was his to stand upon):

Too bad this picture is blurry. Sometimes when I tell him to smile he laughingly says "NO!" and then runs to me for a hug. This was one of those times. I caught him at the start of his attempted getaway:

I almost forgot I have this little video from our visit. Thomas was happily watching the goat drink water and commenting on its every move when a deer stepped in to give him a little kiss. Thomas didn't quite share my amusement.

Tomorrow I plan to finally upload and share the pictures from our trip two Thursdays ago to Fort Sumter! Check back soon!

Lovin' the lawn mower

Thomas loves the lawn mower or anything else with wheels. In that, he is all boy. A couple of weeks ago I got the best video of him "chatting" up a storm about the lawn mower ... or so I thought. Turns out, I didn't have the record button on (yes, I am a blonde). By the time I realized it, Trey had already started cutting the grass. I asked him to stop so we could try to recreate the moment. While the end product was cute enough, it wasn't nearly as funny as the first one that I didn't actually get. In this one he kept going to Trey trying to get him to hold him while he mowed the grass. But, it's still at least a little cute and worthy of sharing (although it does get a little long). Enjoy!

Videos and Photoshop

Sorry I haven't been updating. Trey's been home and that has been very nice. And I couldn't find the camera cord for a few days, but now we have it. Anyway, cue up the Final Jeopardy tune because these videos and photos will just have to hold any readers over until I can find a minute to post the other photos I uploaded earlier tonight.

We took Thomas to his first baseball game tonight (the Charleston Riverdogs) and besides being a bit warm, it was fun. Too bad I forgot the camera. Anyway, enjoy these few little peeks of Thomas!

He's really enjoying his bouncing zebra these days. On the day I took this video, I caught him at the tail end of his fun so I didn't catch him on there long, but some days he just has a ball for minutes and minutes at a time! (in this video he's wearing the shirt his Dad proudly bought for him during his recent visit back to campus)

When Thomas tries to get into the trash or something equally disgusting I usually say, "That's yucky! Nasty! Yuck!" and I stick out my tongue making that sound you know you know, "Blehhhh!" (or something like that). Well, Thomas has his own imitation for that sound and now everytime I say something is "yucky/nasty/gross" he makes that noise. See for yourself:

Last week I played around with Photoshop a little trying to add effects to a few pictures. I posted this one before unedited...here's it is with a little "glow":

And this one I washed out a little. I'll have to try again because I think it's a cute picture...it just needs a little something else. This was Thomas at a friend's neighborhood pool:

A few more from our trip to the lake a couple of weeks ago:
