Parker is teething. His two front bottom teeth are still coming in, and his top front teeth are starting to make their way through his gums. The left one is further through than the other. He's quite proud of his somewhat toothy grin:
And he's just a smiley child in general...usually...
Parker is close to crawling! The other day I put him on the floor in just his diaper while I retrieved something that had fallen behind his dresser. When I looked back at Parker, he was (for the first time he has ever done this awake) up on his knees in a crawling position, rocking forward. Trey heard me exclaim and came running in, so he got to see it too. Parker did it a few times and each time he would sort of flop onto his face. Then he got tired of it and gave up. He does more consistently push himself backwards though, so that adds to the mobility he has in turning himself around in a circle and rolling everywhere. I'm sure he'll be all over the place soon and I know he can't wait. When he sees things he wants he starts squealing and wants so very badly to get there.
I have tried and tried to get a video of him attempting to crawl, but he gets quite camera shy. So here's another picture of him looking happy instead:
And Thomas, well, he's Thomas. He makes us laugh with the funny things he says all the time. He is always picking up sayings here and there, especially from books. One of his favorite phrases lately is to tell me that something is, "the silliest thing I've ever heard, Mommy!" He always makes me smile.
His love of books seems to be amplified lately and I love that about him. He does watch more Calliou than I would like (that's his favorite cartoon program for anyone not in the know), but he also asks frequently to go sit in his crib and read books
He loves his little brother and always wants to play with him...but also likes to take toys from him too. We are working on that. Now would be a good time for a picture of them together, but instead I just have Thomas. :)
Thomas knows how to push buttons, but he also knows how to smile and let his cuteness win. It's hard to say no sometimes.
They both have that affect on me...
This post is a bit Parker heavy, but Thomas will have his own post in a couple days. Thought I'd close with Parker's favorite thing to do lately. In fact, I have to hide this toy because if he sees it, he will squeal and whine until I let him sit on it (he feels the same way about Thomas' jeep. He loves to sit in that too). He can't do it all by himself, but today he was getting better and was scooting himself backward a bit. I think he's going to love all things with wheels like his brother!
I'll try to do better with blogging!
And also, let me take a moment to say thank you thank you thank you to those of you who have donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Associaton in support of sweet Jake and the walk I'll be doing next month. I'm thrilled to be passing the goal and I'm so thankful for every cent. It means so much!
