First haircut

It's really quite ridiculous how many pictures I have taken of Thomas today. And I'm about to post too many of them here...so entertain me.

Thomas had his first haircut today and it went quite well. As soon as we arrived, he took an immediate interest in the fire truck chair. This made the whole experience so much easier for everyone!


He wasn't so sure about the cape. He got a little upset but quickly calmed when I convinced him it was just like a bib:


Of course, he already had a few tears going from the cape, so the water bottle pushed him (temporarily) over the top:


As you can see, I was quick with the paci and that helped. Plus, the seasoned lady with the scissors quickly knew how to calm him.

And then the cutting began...






When I arrived, I told the woman that my husband wanted me to have all the curls cut off. She said, "Oh, not ALL of them! You don't really want to do that." So she twisted my arm (that was so hard!) and we agreed to leave it with a tiny bit of length. She called it a "surfer's cut."

In the end, it's not too short. His Dad is happy. And he definitely looks like a boy!

As for how Thomas is doing, his cough seems to be improving (and still not a croup cough), but after last night I think he's afraid to eat! He didn't eat a whole lot all day today. At dinner I think he had two little bites of chicken, a few crackers, a few Cheerios (I brought those out when nothing else was working) and a whole container of applesauce. At lunch he had two bites of his sandwich, one bite of applesauce (that's why he had it for dinner!) and said he wanted to "nap, nap." I put him down an hour earlier than usual and he went to sleep pretty quickly. Either way, we're still in self-imposed quarantine for the rest of the week. Hopefully we'll all be well by next week!
