Good food, great tree, bad ants

A few weeks ago, Trey & Thomas discovered a great little restaurant/country store on John's Island (Cindy's) after a trip to the beach (right after Parker was born and Trey was on paternity leave). Trey has been wanting to take me back there ever since, so Saturday we decided to go and it was great. It has a wonderful play area for kids:

That's Thomas's "Say cheese!" face. :)

Thomas definitely approves of this restaurant...

And he definitely approves of a hot dog!

Afterwards we decided to stop by the Angel Oak tree (estimated to be over 1,400 years old) on the way home. It's a mighty big tree...

Thomas says it is very BIG!!!!

And it makes for a good picture...

Or two...

(Parker likes to throw his head back, so believe it or not, he made himself be that way because he likes it).

But on this day, not more than two pictures. Why? Because on this day Thomas learned all about fire ants. They are not nice. They do not make for good photo ops. First one bit me. Then two bit Thomas. Then one bit Trey and we got out of there before one made a move on Parker.

Thomas wasn't crazy about the mean ol' ants, but survived with a little badge or two of courage:

Hopefully he (nor any of us) have to meet any ants again any time soon!
