Blessing of the Halloween Costumes

I love the family service at our church, and I really enjoy the two fun "blessings" offered for the children each year. The first is the "Blessing of the Bookbags" in August just before school starts, and the Sunday before Halloween they have the "Blessing of the Halloween Costumes." Children are encouraged to wear their costumes to church and during the children's time, the priest offers a prayer to keep the children safe and well on Halloween.
