I'm back with more pictures from our Thanksgiving vacation. After dinner on Thanksgiving we all took a walk where the lake should be. Lake Moultrie, where Mom & Dad live, is at it's lowest level since the 1950's (which was not long after the lakes were created!) due to the drought conditions in SC and throughout the southeast (the watershed for the lake is 15,000 square miles extended into the mountains of NC).
Thomas surveyed the new shoreline (after he had already taken a seat in the damp sand, as you may notice):

And if you look from there back to Mom & Dad's house, you can see how much it has dropped (the water should be up to the white sandy area at the top of the pic).

And the dock, which normally ends in about five feet or so of water (give or take a foot):

Anyway, it's a neat place to walk:

And Katherine rather enjoyed playing with all the shells now exposed in the sand:

Thomas and Nannie even got in on the fun:

This is a seawall down at the end of the peninsula. You can see the watermark, and the men all pictured here are six feet or more.

Here's the crew, making their way in the distance to the point:

When we got back to the house, the men threw the football around a bit. It became more of a "Keep Away" game from Thomas, but he enjoyed it and liked the few times he got to get the ball and run it to his Daddy or someone else. Here he brings it to his Uncle Andrew.

The next night, some family friends came over to celebrate my Dad's 60th birthday. All the people were a bit overwhelming for the kids at first, so they sought refuge in Trey's lap:

That's about it! Hopefully tomorrow I'll be back with pictures from our fun weekend.
