Sleeping Parker

Ever since we made him stop sucking his thumb, Parker has been going to sleep with his light on. Some nights he simply puts a few books in his bed, and falls asleep quickly. Other nights there are requests for one more sip of water and a few other peeks out his door. And then there are other nights.

Some nights I hear a lot of movement and commotion and rustling around in his closet. I never know what I will find when I go in to turn off the light, but usually I am glad the light is on so I can see him and his handiwork.

Tonight was a noisy night. When I went in there were books and his pillows on the floor. He has pulled his shams off the windowseat onto his bed, gotten his baby blanket out of his closet, taken off his shirt, and surrounded himself with a few books.

Such a sweet, silly, sleepyhead.
